So I want to share a story with youabout eight years ago I was big into running and I went out for a run and Iwas getting that dopomine drip that high, that you get that runner's highand I'm running and I'm listening to music, and I have this amazing idea foran APP and that idea was called the night of your life where you ere, goingto take pictures and upload them and tag your location and tag. Your friendsand at the end of the night you'd have this story of everything that you didnow. I didn't do anything with it. I had this idea and I didn't execute now.Nowadays we have instagram stories and basically everything is that exact idea-and I don't have any resentment towards that because I didn't execute in thisepisode- is all about ideas versus execution. So before we get started, I just wantedto thank everybody who's, leaving a...

...review for this podcast. I do my bestto make sure that it is practical information and DEUCE's Doubleo to sayssuper practical and helpful five stars. I came across this podcast by comingacross poddects on Instagram, and I just lunched my own podcast two monthsago, which I've dreamt of doing for almost three years. As I came acrosspod decks. I've already been listened to five episodes in one sitting andthese episodes are very practical and helpful. So I just wantd to say deuceisdouble o to thank you so much, and if you like, this podcast consider leavinga review. I read every single one, so your ideas, I hear a lot of people sayI've got a great idea. I got a idea for a podcast and a name and I'll say: Ohcool, tell me all about it and their response is well. I'm not going to tellanybody because, I'm afraid someone's going to steal my idea. So I think thisis pretty common, that you come up with a concept and you think oh someone's,going to steal this from me right. It's...

...that lack mentality, but what you'rereally afraid of is that someone's going to execute before you do so,whether you're starting a business or a podcast or a new collaboration? It'sreally easy to go too well. I don't want to share anything because somebodymight take my idea now. The reality of things is that people don't really wantto steal your idea. The microscope isn't on you and an idea is completelyuseless. I mean my idea about the night of your life. APP is completely uselessbecause I didn't tell anybody about it. I didn't share it and I didn't executeon it. So having that idea was just an idea and without execution nothing willever come to life. So if you're listening to this podcast you're,probably a lifelong learner and you're, probably on sites like Youtube andclubhouse and maybe even buying courses...

...just like I do and something that Iwant to really reinforced you today is that none of that stuff will matter.Unless you apply what you've learned. So you could sit on twelve hours of clubhouse this weekend, all about podcasting listening to conversations, but until you actually write one of those actions down and take it, it isjust like having an idea without the execution, it's absolutely useless. Solet's illustrate this in another way. Let's use the analogy of an airplane okay, so the airplane visualize it. What coloris it my airplanes gray? Now the cockpit I'm sitting in the cockpitright, I'm the pilot and the airplane is essentially going to be the idearight. The concept everything together...

...now without anybody in the plane. Idon't know which direction to go so think about the people that are in yourplane, as maybe people that you've told your idea about, or collaborators andthey're going to be able to give you feedback. Where do we want to go? Tellme where to go. Tell me where to fly this plane or people to help you like astewardess or steward or flight attendant. I don't know what youcan say anymore, but the people on the flight that are helping keep everybodyon the plane. Happy Right, your collaborators now a plane doesn't just magically go intothe sky, ind needs fuel and it needs wings and those are going to give itthe ability to fly, but at some point you've got to get onthe runway and hopefully, you've been on a plane not recently, but at somepoint in your life, and you know that you prepare for takeoff and the planesits still and then all of a sudden...

...there is this rush and the plane is moving and it's goingfaster and faster, and it needs a specific amount of energy and force andacceleration for the plane to get off the ground. Well, that acceleration andthat lift off is taking that first step. It's yourexecution right and once you put in that execution, youcan get that plane off the ground and that plane will then fly you'll, beable to use the wings and the the resistance of the air and it getseasier but sitting on an idea saying why get ta wait to trademark this? Before I tell anyone is an excuse. It's you saying that I'd rather wait toexecute this, and I don't want to tell anybody because I'm afraid somebodyelse will execute it faster or better and quote steal my idea. Does thissound like you? Have you ever said that...

...now I can tell you from personalexperience. I at one point in time was afraid that someone would do mybusiness better than me. That's right, I envented pod deck as a tool, and Ithought you know there's so many businesses out there with so much morecapital and I was afraid I was actually afraid to promote it too much because Ididn't want the wrong person to see it and do it better than me, but I had totalk to someone about that. My Mentor said sure it's a great idea at somepoint someone's going to steal it, but does that mean you're going to quit andI said no NDHE's like if somebody else comes out with another version of whatyou're doing you're going to stop selling yours, I said no, he saidyou're going to stop podcasting, I said no, so he said, then it really doesn'tmatter. You need to keep doing what you're doing and run your race now. Inaddition to that, any time you're doing something, I alsorecommend trying to put yourself out of business if you have a business modeland you think gosh someone's going to...

...steal this and, let's be honest, allideas are coming from another idea: The there are no original ideas anymoreright. Even Elon Musk is working on sending people to Mars. Well, that's ota new idea. It's just he's doing it in a different way and his electric car is not a new idea. The car has been around forever. It's just a new way to put out cars, so no idea that any of us have asreally all that inventive. In the end, we dotake nods from the places we've been in ourexperiences and the things that we love, so don't get too precious about an idea, but going back to what I was saying is try to put yourself out of business. SoI looked at my company PODDECK and said: What would somebody do if they wantedto put me out of business, and I said they'd probably make an APP,...

...so I decided hey I'll, make an APP I'llput myself out of business, and I was really nervous about it. I thought oncethere is an APP. No one's GOINGTO want to buy poddecks anymore, and the truthof the matter is: Is it didn't affect poddect sales at all? Some people likethe APP some people like physical cards and both of them exist now all becauseI was trying to make sure that I had hit every angle ofmy idea. So there's always going to be a reasonor an excuse for you not to do something. It's how we're programmed toprotect ourselves from danger. We want to avoid conflict, so there always bean excuse. I don't have a good enough microphone. I don't have enough moneyin the bank someone's going to steal my idea. I don't have a trademark, so thebest way that you can protect yourself from someone's tealing. Your idea is toactually execute on it. So here's my challenge to you. What is the thingthat you're...

...worried about that you're, makingexcuses for that you're, not taking action on what is it? What is theproject you're not working on? What is the podcast you're, not starting? Iwant you to think about that one thing and think about the excuses you mightbe making, and I want you to take action today. I want you to do. Onething doesn't have to be a huge thing. You don't have to build a rocket andfly to Mars, but make your intentions known toyourself. Take one step in order to make that dream become a reality andexecute today, and if you like, this podcast make sure you subscribe or ifyou know somebody who might like this podcast go ahead and click that sharebutton. Let them know that they might need a little bit of podcast therapyand remember you don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to begreat.
